Exciting day on Tuesday

Pajama / Movie Day
and
Toy Day

Scholars at RES have lit the RES sign twice and have earned a movie and pajama day for tomorrow.

Scholars in Mrs. Lister's class have earned 300 check marks for showing expected behavior in the classroom. Scholars can bring in a small toy or stuffed animal tomorrow and can use it during an extra choice time.

Super proud of how hard everyone has worked in order to receive these fun activities.

Reading Choices and Good Wishes for 2016

Today during our literacy block we rotated between read to self, listen to reading and writing words in shaving cream.  It was a great way to spend our morning.  As you can imagine, there is a lot of excitement in the air and the shaving cream helped us to keep our energy " just right" for learning.

I wish you all a relaxing and enjoyable vacation.   I enjoy every minute with your children and I am looking forward to a wonderful 2016 with them.

2nd grade buddy day

Today Ms Darling's 2nd graders came to visit. Professor Snow (AKA Mrs. Rankin) joined us and made a super absorbent polymer which resembled snow.  After some time experimenting with the "snow" we painted snowflakes out of puffy paint. We sipped on a cup of  hot cocoa while we visited with each other.   The paint should dry and we will have colorful window stickers.  What a fun day of learning and cooperating! Have a good weekend.

Holidays around the World -Italy

We left Germany this morning and headed to Italy.   We learned about the legend of "La Befana", during our in-flight movie and read aloud.

We had our passports stamped as we arrived!

We made some great crafts to remind us of our trip.  The scholars are getting excited to bring their very full suitcases home.   Later this week, we will take our final airplane  trip back to the USA and talk about the different traditions that we all have.

Holidays Around the World - Germany

We had a fun flight to Germany today.   Here we are waiting to board the plane!

We received our in-flight instructions.

We settled in to hear some information about German holiday customs.

Once our passports were stamped, we  located Germany on our world map,  we colored a German flag and created a few projects. Please ask your scholar about some of our crafting today.  We are hoping for a surprise in our shoes.  We will be spending tomorrow in Germany and will fly to Italy one day next week!
